We often say things like ‘that place had a weird vibe' or ‘I just didn't get a good feeling from that person.' But what does that really mean? It's not just about having the energy to walk the dog or get up and make a cup of tea—it's about the invisible energy we all carry and give off. And guess what? Our animals pick up on it instantly.

In both human and animal wellness, energy isn't just an abstract concept—it's part of our biology, behaviour, and relationships. And this includes the deep bond between humans and animals, especially those we live and work with. Whether it's a wagging tail, a purring companion, or a working dog responding to your emotional state, our animals are always reading our energy.

What Is the Biofield?

The biofield is a term used to describe the electromagnetic and subtle energy fields that surround the body. It's a real, measurable phenomenon (yes, science agrees!) and is thought to play a key role in communication between cells, the immune system, and emotional regulation.

But what's truly fascinating is how sensitive animals are to these energy fields. Their survival instincts depend on being attuned to subtle cues—like changes in tone, body language, and yes, energy. That means when we're stressed, anxious, or emotionally “off,” they feel it too.

Why This Matters in Training and Behaviour

In training, the human-animal energy exchange is often the missing piece. You can have all the treats and commands lined up perfectly, but if your energy is tense or scattered, your animal knows. And they may respond with confusion, resistance, or anxiety.

This is especially relevant in settings with rescue animals, working dogs, or reactive pets, where trauma or stress may already be present. Approaching training or care through a calm, regulated biofield can completely shift the dynamic. I've seen animals move from resistance to receptivity once their human adjusts their energy.

Healing and Communication Works Both Ways

Our animals aren't just passive receivers of our energy. They're our mirrors, healers, and teachers. As we regulate our own energy and become more present, they often shift too. That's the power of a conscious, connected relationship. That's the magic of the human–animal bond.
